Senior Network Engineer for AI Factory

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be the architect of the connectivity layer for the most advanced AI infrastructure in Europe. You will build and automate a platform that manages high-speed fabrics, firewalls, and border gateways. This is a customer-facing, high-impact role where you combine deep technical engineering with strategic consultancy.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Architect & Operate: Coordinate the lifecycle (installs, upgrades, firmware) of the network stack across Data Center, IaaS, and PaaS layers.
  

• High-Speed Fabric Management: Manage a unified network utilizing InfiniBand, Ethernet, and RoCE technologies to ensure ultra-low latency for AI workloads.
  

• Automation First: Develop and maintain automation scripts (Ansible, Terraform) to orchestrate the entire network scope, ensuring a "Zero Outage" environment.
  

• Security & Connectivity: Design and implement FortiGate security policies and Cisco Border Gateways to ensure sovereign, secure, and fast data transit.
  

• Innovation & Consultancy: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical advice to customers and internal teams while researching the next generation of AI Cloud networking.
  

• Leadership: Mentor junior co-workers, lead technical cross-team activities, and define the standard operating procedures for the AI Factory.
  

Requirements

Technical Mastery:

• Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
  

• High-Performance Networking: Expert knowledge of InfiniBand architecture, RoCE, and NVIDIA/Mellanox switch configuration (UFM).
  

• Routing & Switching: Deep experience with BGP/OSPF, ASNs, IP Transit, and peering in large-scale Data Center environments.
  

• Security Expert: Proficiency in Fortinet (FortiGate) management, including IDS/IPS, VPNs, and Zero-Trust segmentation.
  

• Linux Networking: Strong command of Cumulus, Ubuntu, or Debian (bridges, bonds, VLANs).
  

• The Toolbelt: Experience with iperf, ethtool, nvidia-smi, and perfquery.
  

Automation & Cloud:

• Infrastructure as Code: Proven skills in Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack, or Helm.
  

• Cloud-Native: Experience with Kubernetes (VMware Tanzu) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions).
  

• Programming: Ability to script in Go, Python, or Bash.
  

Soft Skills & Methodology:

• ITIL & Quality: Deep understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change management.
  

• Language: Fluent English (C1); German is a significant advantage.
  

• Mindset: Analytical thinker with strong negotiation skills and the ability to lead complex technical investigations.
